🇫🇷 Fréjus, France (since 1980)
Fréjus, located on the French Riviera, became Fredericksburg's first sister city in 1980. The Fredericksburg Sister City Association (FSCA) facilitates cultural exchanges, including annual student exchange programs where students alternate visits between the two cities each year. A notable symbol of this relationship is Fréjus Place, a small park in downtown Fredericksburg featuring a sundial gifted by Fréjus to commemorate their 25th anniversary as sister cities.
🇬🇭 Princes Town, Ghana (since 2006)
In 2006, Fredericksburg became the first city in Virginia to partner with an African city by establishing a sister city relationship with Princes Town, Ghana. This partnership aims to acknowledge shared history and promote cultural understanding.
